Samsung to officially announce Galaxy S5 in India on March 27
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5 will be officially announced in India on March 27. Samsung has started sending out press invites for event on Thursday. Samsung may also unveil its list of wearable devices Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.
Announced on March 27, the Galaxy S5 will be available in India for buyers from 11 April. Samsung will launch its flagship in other 149 countries on the same day. This was officially announced by Samsung in the MWC 2014 event. Galaxy S5 had a host of rumors starting from news that it will have 64 bit processor and 2K display, followed by Samsung won’t launch Galaxy S5 at MWC event, then there was leak of benchmark photos and detailed specifications and then finally, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S5. Samsung has also dropped the price of Galaxy S4 from Rs.41,500 to Rs.29,860.
The Galaxy S5 comes with a fingerprint scanner on the home button and a heart rate sensor on the back, near the camera. It has a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED, full HD display. It comes with 2.5 GHz quad core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Galaxy S5 runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz User Interface on top. The 16 MP rear camera comes with LED flash which has the least autofocus time of 0.3 seconds and front has 2.1 MP camera. Galaxy S5 will come in two versions, the 16 GB and 32 GB version, both expandable upto 64 GB via microSD card and is powered by a 2,800 mAh battery. In addition to the above features, Galaxy S5 has IP67 certification which means that it is water and dust resistant. The fingerprint scanner offers secure authentication for unlocking your device and making payments. It will be available in four colors, charcoal black, shimmery white, electric blue and copper gold.
